When choosing a good doctor for whatever your situation is, there’s generally a specific set of questions you can ask and help to determine if this doctor is good for you. While there’s no proven formula for this situation, there’s some good guidelines which generally work out pretty well. Here’s some questions you should be able to answer whenever finding a good doctor:
- Does the doctor have educational and training to do well in my situation?
- How many cases like mine has the doctor dealt with?
- Has the doctor outlined options and information to you on your situation?
- Does the doctor listen to your concerns, and treat you nicely?
- If you’re looking for a surgeon, look to see if he/she is board certified, is in a medical specialty group, the number of operations they’ve performed which are similar to yours, and the communication the surgeon has with you about the disease and your options
These should be an excellent starting point in finding a good doctor for you.
